Organised opposition to PV by landscape protection associations in Switzerland

While the issue is not as pronounced for PV as it is for wind energy, landscape protection associations (first and foremost "Stiftung Landschaftschutz") are currently organizing opposition against ground-mounted PV (GMPV) projects in the canton Wallis. Since representatives of the solar energy association are expecting more future GMPV projects in high alpine areas, organized opposition is likely to increase. 

Representatives of the Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (Verband Schweizerischer Elektrizitätsunternehmen) also support this perception and state that the lack of balance right of use (Nutzungsrecht) and right to protect (Schutzrecht) is the underlying issue.
