Public perception of RES

Political barriers are primarily related to the mixed messages sent by decision-makers about renewable energy. Politicians regularly resort to populist campaigns against the renewable energy support scheme and its cost for households. Therefore, authorities need to make further efforts to explain benefits of renewable enrgy sources, investments in renewable energy projects, the use of local resources and other socio-economic benefits.

For large energy consumers, project pre-development costs are high and they lack access to the necessary information. In addition, large energy consumers and other large companies lack training and knowledge about the efficient use of renewable energy technologies, even if they have installed them.
