Grid regulation and infrastructure
Duration of RES grid access
The SDE decree sets out that in order to be eligible for the SDE++ subsidy, PV projects must be realised within 2 years from the moment that the subsidy was granted. In the case that the PV project is not realised within this timeframe, the project developer will not be allowed to apply for a SDE++ subsidy for one other year. Grid operators often state that in order to reinforce the grid, they have to wait longer than 2 years. This can therefore cause issues and has made the implementation of rooftop PV projects within 2 years increasingly difficult.
